QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  1. Male or Female, Single
  2. Natural Born Filipino
  3. Physically fit
  4. Morally upright and has no derogatory record
  5. Born from 01-January-2004 to 31-December-2009
  6. Applicants must possess any of the following eligibilities;
    • College Level/ Graduate
    • Senior High School Graduate/Graduating Student
  7. Minimum height of 5 ft. 4 in. (162.5 cm) for MALE and 5 ft. 2 in. (157.5 cm) for FEMALE applicants
  8. Has a GPA of at least 83%
  9. Has never been officially admitted at MAAP

DOCUMENTARY REQUIREMENTS

  1. Recent colored 2×2 picture with white background
  2. Copy of Birth Certificate
  3. Copy of Diploma, if graduate from Senior High School, or College
  4. Copy of Certification of Registration or Registration Form, if College Level
  5. Copy of Certificate of Enrollment that you are currently enrolled in Grade 12, if Senior High School graduating student
  6. Copy of School ID
  7. Copy of latest School Report Card with at least has a GPA of 83%
  8. Payment of non-refundable processing fee of Php 400.00 in cash on the day of the examination.
  9. NOTE:

    TO: Applicants who wish to avail of the exemption from the payment of the entrance examination processing fee under the Free College Entrance Examination Act (RA 12006) must be graduates or graduating students and satisfy the following qualifications and requirements:

    1. The graduate or graduating student must be a natural-born Filipino citizen;
    2. The graduate or graduating student must belong to the top ten percent (10%) of his or her graduating class;
    3. The graduate or graduating students must belong to a family whose combined household income falls below the poverty threshold as defined by the National Economic and Development Authority or cannot afford in a sustained manner to provide for their minimum basic needs of food, health, education, housing, and other essential amenities of life duly certified by the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
    4. DOCUMENTARY REQUIREMENTS:

      1. Original certificate from your Senior High School confirming that you are in the top ten percent (10%) of your graduating class or that you graduated in the top ten percent (10%) of your class.
      2. Certificate issued by the Department of Social Welfare and Development, duly certified, stating that your family’s overall household income is below the poverty threshold according to NEDA.

      Failure to provide the necessary document at the time of admission will result in ineligibility for the program.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Applicant will:
  1. Type the link below in the address bar of the browser for the "Online MAAP Midshipman Application Form"

    • Guidelines in Uploading Documents/Files:
      • Files should be in JPG, JPEG or PNG format.
      • Each file should not exceed the size of 500KB.
      • Image size should not exceed 1024pixels/px in height and width.
      • Make sure that the wordings in your uploaded files are readable.
      • If your file is not available, please upload an image saying "not available".
      • If the required document is not applicable to you, please upload an image saying "not applicable".
      • Do not use any special characters while filling out (except for your email address) and in your documents' filename, ex. * - _ , / ; : ( ) | \ etc.
  2. Upload his/her picture, application requirements.
  3. Receive a notification of his/her application status through the email that he/she provided.
  4. Receive a MAAP eTestPermit through the email you provided. Please note that your MAAP eTestPermit will be issued within 1 to 3 working days before your preferred date of examination.
  5. Click the link provided on your email using your MAAP eTestPermit Number and Birthdate. Then register the required details.
  6. Present the MAAP eTestPermit and Confirmation Receipt on your designated testing venue during your day of examination. Please note that MAAP will NOT entertain any applicant whose name is not included on the scheduled date of examination.
  7. Pay Php 400.00 processing fee in cash on the day of your examination. Please prepare an exact amount to limit the physical contact.
  8. Affix your signature on the Attendance Sheet at the registration table.
  9. Proceed to your assigned testing room.

REMINDER: The ONLINE MIDSHIPMAN APPLICATION FORM will open on August 01, 2026. Please prepare the required documents ahead of time for a faster application.

When will I receive my MAAP eTest Permit?

What should I do after receiving my MAAP eTest Permit?

Read and carefully follow all instructions included in the email containing your MAAP eTest Permit.

What should I bring during the MAAP Entrance Examination?
Is there a dress code during the examination?

There is no prescribed dress code. However, applicants are discouraged from wearing slippers, shorts, or sleeveless shirts/blouses.

What if I do not meet the required height?

You may still take the MAAP Entrance Examination. However, if you qualify for the MAAP Panel Interview, you must meet the required height standard. Failure to meet the minimum height requirement may result in disqualification.

My general average is below 83%. Can I still apply?

Yes. However, your admission remains subject to the sponsoring company's evaluation and final approval.

Why can't I register for the next examination schedule at the same testing center?

Registration for the next examination schedule at the same testing center opens only after the current examination schedule has ended.

Can I still take the examination if my visual acuity does not meet the requirement?

Yes. If you pass the examination, you will undergo a Visual Acuity Test and receive further instructions based on the results.

Is NaMMAT required?

The National Merchant Marine Aptitude Test (NaMMAT) is not required during the MAAP Entrance Examination. Applicants who qualify for the Interview Proper may be required to submit their NaMMAT Examinee Report Form.

How many times can I take the MAAP Entrance Examination?

Applicants may take the MAAP Entrance Examination a maximum of two (2) times.

Can I change my examination venue?

No. Requests to change the examination venue are not accommodated because applicants personally select their preferred examination date and venue during the online application process.

If you wish to take the examination at another testing center, you may submit a new application and choose your preferred schedule and venue.

Can I upload my Grade 11 report card instead of my Grade 12 report card?

Yes. Upload both the front and back pages of your Grade 11 report card, ensuring your name and grades are clearly visible.

Can I use my Grade 12 report card since I am currently a first-year college student?

Yes. You may upload your Grade 12 report card, provided that both the front and back pages are uploaded clearly and your name and grades are fully visible.
